Heart of Lead is an outstanding debut album that I, like a buffoon, dismissed too hastily back in 2019 as it was not dissonant and chaotic enough. You have to understand that Svartidaudi, Misthyrming, and Rebirth of Nefast were (still are) my gold standards for Icelandic BM, but just as I now like a whole slew of less overtly muscular and ominous bands from the scene, I can say that Kaleikr killed it here! Class-act musicianship and riffology throughout, and another Lockhart production clinic! Ippocalyptica
Damn, how could i miss this one for so long?
Amazing Death/Doom album.
Haunting melodies, epic riffs, outstanding vocals and killer drums!
The Radiant Dark is perfect in every way.
A beautiful and emotional masterpiece! Sælzer Bub
Ùlfúð deliver 44 minutes of blackened death, packed to the brim with melodic riffs and unrelenting double bass barragеs. The sound is warm - the sort I would rather expect to hear on a melodeath album - and goes well with the music. It does not fully float my boat yet, but that may very well be due to the fact that 2023 has been absolutely packed with top-tier releases so far. I still starkly recommend that you listen to this album, and keep your eyes peeled for Ùlfúð. This is good! David Fischer
The songs are masterfully composed and flow together beautifully, and the orchestration is exactly how I want metal orchestration to sound: full, playable by a real orchestra, and just as important to the music as the vocals, drums, guitar, and bass are. tonycordeshimself
